Craft Your Own Heirloom Knife at 84 Ranch in Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Join us for a three-day knifemaking class you’ll never forget. From July 3-5, 2026, you’ll immerse yourself in the timeless art of hand-forging a custom carbon steel knife under the guidance of bladesmith Aaron Williams. Whether you’re an experienced blacksmith or a beginner, this workshop is the perfect way to connect with tradition and craftsmanship.

What You’ll Experience

Over three full workshop days, you will:

  • Hand forge a blade with hammer on anvil and refine the shape on a grinder

  • Shape and attach a handle that is perfect for your hand and intended use

  • Heat treat the blade to ensure it is both hard and durable and will hold up to heavy use

  • Learn and practice traditional methods using high carbon steel and high-quality handle materials.

  • Be part of a small, hands-on class that balances precision, artistry, and fun.

The course takes place in the old red barn at 84 Ranch, located on Highway 84 just outside of the mountain town of Pagosa Springs.
