My Story
Chapter 1: The Garage
I started bladesmithing while I was college. I got all the gear I needed on amazon and learned everything I needed to know on YouTube or by trial and error.
At the beginning, all I had a tiny anvil and a cheap hammer. I still don’t use a lot of fancy equipment, but my skills have come a long way.
Chapter 2: The Forest
After graduation, my wife (fiance at the time), my dog, and I moved to southwest Colorado where we lived and worked out of am 8x12’ cargo trailer at campsites in the National Forest.
We came into town for markets on the weekends, and I hammered away in the forest through the week.
Chapter 3: The Ranch
When the forest roads were blocked off for the winter, we moved our trailer to a ranch. I fed the animals in the mornings to cover our rent, and I worked in an old barn.
We also got married during this time.
Chapter 4: The Cabin
After making it through the winter, we bought our first house and moved in the next summer.
