Carbon Steel Philosophy

If it is properly cared for, over time carbon steel will form a natural patina that is completely unique. No two knives will ever form the same patina because it is affected by how it is used: how quickly it is cleaned, the acidity of the food it cuts, the oils of your hands.

99% of the knives on the market are made of stainless steel. Carbon steel is a superior material in every way, except for one thing: it can rust. This means that it requires an extra level of care.

If you are using it in the field and it gets rained on or gets wet in some way, it must be cleaned and dried. If you are using it in the kitchen, it must be wiped in between uses.
